The Pennine Lancashire Education Leadership Academy (PLELA) is, simply, its members; schools, academies, colleges and individual professionals who share a commitment to serve their pupils and students by becoming the best leaders they can – now and for the future. It is these colleagues who define and use the programme we provide.
The vision of a Lancashire Education Leadership Academy dates back over a decade. Led by Alder Grange, the principles set out below (“Core Beliefs”) were first applied in the form of the Pennine Lancashire Education Leadership Academy (PLELA) as an integral part of the growth of the East Lancashire Schools’ Support Alliance (ELSSA) in 2010. Based on its subsequent success the Leadership Academy has offered its services to schools, partnerships and alliances in other parts of Lancashire and beyond. Now, as the Lancashire Education Leadership Academy, LELA, the next stage of this vision has been made a reality.
A central tenet is that the Leadership Academy is its members – schools, colleges, academies and individual professionals who share a commitment to serve our pupils by being the best leaders we can, now and for the future. This philosophy is enshrined in the CHARTER to which all members subscribe.
